Bad ass F6F you've constructed here.

This aircraft will always occupy a place deep in my heart.

My Dad, an Iowa farm kid, was a Navy enlistee at 18, spent his entire flight training hoping he'd get to fly Wildcats.
He qualified for fighter aircraft. His first billet was a fleet assignment flying a Hellcat of VF32 off the The USS Cabot.
So enamored with being a Naval Aviator was he, that he remained one for 30 years, retiring in 1973. God willing, He will turn 92 next month.

For shits and giggles, please Google 'Koloc Point'

I like your model a lot because aside from the white squadron markings, it's configured and coloured just as his was, complete with the 5" HVAR. VF32 had no white on the nacelle but rather sported thin outline striping on the tail and ailerons, and naturally the White '7' on the cowling, the issue of his aircraft.

I wish I had the time to build and paint models anymore but it's sure nice to see yours. Thanks again.
